Emmerdale star Zoe Henry opens up about new arrival with co-star husband Jeff Hordley

Emmerdale: Zoe Henry reacts to old photo of Jeff Hordley

Emmerdale star Zoe Henry has shared a new insight into her life with co-star husband Jeff Hordley. The 50-year-old has been in the Yorkshire-based soap since 2000 as Rhona Goskirk but has been with her husband for over 30 years.

Zoe first met Jeff in college before they married in 2003. The pair share two children, Violet and Stan, and now work on the same soap together.

Speaking about her home life with Jeff on Lorraine, Zoe shared: "In the nicest possible way, I think we both enjoy that part of it [not working together on set]. When our kids were young, it meant we could each be at home with the children in rotation, which was so important as the most important thing was our family and our kids.

"It’s quite nice. We’ve got the shared environment of working with people on set and the different teams, but we can come home and talk about it - we’ve not had the same day. I like it. I don’t think they’d be friends."

Zoe also shared that her family will be welcoming a new member. The actress will be introducing a dog to their household after their old pet died in February.

Speaking about the new family member, Zoe said: "We lost our dear old doggy Rita back in February, which was truly awful.

"It feels not the right time but it’s never going to be the right time. So Geraldine is arriving in the house on Friday. Not sure what’s going to happen but it’s going to be fun."

Zoe and Jeff are drama sweethearts after first meeting in 1994 at the same theatre school in Manchester. Jeff once said: "We met at drama school in 1994. I saw Zoe and realised she was the girl for me."

The pair got engaged in 2002 following a very romantic proposal after Zoe won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Manchester Evening New's Theatre Awards.

The pair live together in a quaint cottage in the Yorkshire Dales with their children and pets. They also reportedly grow their own produce on their huge allotment.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
