Four in a Bed guests forced to sleep in car after host's go 'missing'

Four in a Bed: Couple sleep in car after finding dirty facilities

The contestants on Thursday’s instalment of were less than impressed with their stay. In the week’s final visit for the competitors, it was sisters Lesley and Sarah’s turn to host.

However, as both were unwell, they were unable to see their guests for the duration of their stay. Instead, Sarah’s husband greeted them and showed them to their rooms.

Although all seemed to be fine with their rooms at first, upon closer inspection things started to go downhill. Mat and Helen were unhappy with the cleanliness of their room as they found earwigs in the sink and discovered the silicone on the flue repair caused smoking in the yurt.

In the end, they were given another room, however, the issues weren’t resolved. Pulling back their covers on the bed, Helen said: “It feels damp.” Mat added: “There’s dirt, hairs, there’s a stain. It’s just very dirty.” Not happy with their room, they decided to stay in their car instead of their pod.

Speaking about their decision, the next day, Mat said: “The sleep was pretty poor, wasn’t it? We slept in the car, I think I got about 45 minutes all in all sleep-wise.”

The duo said that as everything felt damp in the room, along with their mattress being dirty, they found it easier to stay in the car.

When it came to giving feedback, the guests did not hold back on their thoughts on hygiene as Mat and Helen scored them a three.

As each couple said they wouldn’t stay again, Lesley and Sarah were distraught with their critiques.

Upon hearing the harsh comments, Lesley said: “Gutted, I’m trying really hard not to cry actually. There’s obviously more people who don’t like glamping.”

Although they called their criticism rubbish when it came to the bedding, they agreed with the bug issue.

Lesley added: “Yes, there probably were earwigs in the sink, it’s glamping, it’s outdoors, it’s not bugged tight.”

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, Channel 4 viewer @Spinkzilla said: “Really harsh scoring. Unfair!”

@DavidWa53158736 added: “Wow these people are SO awfully critical #fourinabed.”
