are reportedly set to replace their badge with the iconic cannon on all of their shirts next season. The major design change was leaked online recently when an eagle-eyed supporter spotted a strip in the window of a building near the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are one of the clubs leading the way in football teams breaking into the fashion industry. London remains one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world, and the Gunners have made use of that in recent years – both in terms of kit designs and also ensuring that a significant part of their merchandise would not look out of place away from the Emirates.

Further changes are now in the pipeline ahead of the 2025/26 campaign when it comes to strips. According to The Athletic, Arsenal are set to replace their club crest next season with their iconic cannon.

The change was already implemented on their current green third shirt, and it will now be emblazoned on all strips for next season. The cannon also featured on Arsenal’s 2022/23 black away shirt, which was very popular among supporters.

The Gunners are keen to ensure that they recognise the significant elements of their history, both on the pitch and in terms of ‘cultural reference points’. As such, a switch to donning the cannon is seen as a way to highlight that part of their past and ensure that the iconography remains a part of their ‘now’.

Arsenal last used the cannon instead of their club badge on a home shirt in the 1989/90 campaign, when the icon was accompanied by the letters ‘AFC’. The tweak for next season therefore represents a significant change on their kit front, though it may not have come as a surprise to many supporters.

In recent weeks, a ‘leaked’ home kit has been shared online after a fan spotted a new-look red and white strip hung in the window of a building near the Emirates. The strip showed a white Adidas logo with a white cannon crest, indicating a move away from the gold details used this season.

The shirt also featured significant white areas on each side of the shirt, compared to this year’s where only the sleeves were white. There are also some blue details including the iconic Arsenal stripes down the sleeves. Arsenal are yet to officially announce their kits for next season, though there are certainly early indications that Mikel Arteta’s side will be donning a much-changed strip.
