Lauren exclusive: These players have made me feel proud of Arsenal again

Arsenal Invincible Lauren says he was confident of Mikel Arteta's team being competitive this season - though the consistency the Premier League leaders have shown has surprised him.

Lauren admits he's loving watching how Arteta's young team has grown throughout the campaign as they sit top of the table eight points clear of second-place Manchester City, having played a game more.

On behalf of Bet365, Lauren told Tribalfootball.com: "Of course, we always expect Arsenal to be near the top at the start of the season.

"But what has pleased me - and surprised me a bit - has been the way they've been performing, week-in, week-out. That kind of consistency we've been demanding from Arsenal over the years, we're now seeing it this season.

"They're playing with the right approach, not just in one game, but every game and through the 90 minutes. This is what has impressed me most."

Lauren also said: "Look, whatever happens between now and the end of the season, I want to say they have made me proud. They have made me believe in Arsenal again.

"We've shown we can compete at the top. We can lead the Premier League and beat the big opponents.

"So whatever happens, the players have brought back that belief to the club and the fans - and that makes me feel proud."
