The Philadelphia 76ers are nearing agreement to trade Jahlil Okafor to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for forward Trevor Booker, league sources tell ESPN.com.

The 76ers will also send guard Nik Stauskas to the Nets, sources said. The Nets will also receive a 2019 second-round pick that originally belonged to the Knicks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal will end something of a stand-off between the Sixers and Okafor, as detailed by Wojnarowski.

Philadelphia has excised Okafor from its rotation after declining their team option on him for next season, and Okafor's representatives have asked for a trade or a buyout.

Okafor was the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft, first-team All-NBA Rookie team, but that's disappeared into the distance as he has played only two games this season. The Sixers are undergoing a franchise renaissance, armed with young superstars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. As for Okafor, he has been cast aside, a casualty of a process that has moved on without him.

"I would like for them to just send me somewhere where I can get an opportunity," Okafor told ESPN in November. "I've done everything they've asked of me and I would just like to get an opportunity to play with a trade or a buyout. I just hope something happens quickly.

"I know it's business, but in my eyes, I don't know if it's good business."

Booker, a seven-year veteran out of Clemson, is averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in 18 games.

Stauskas, who joined the Sixers in 2015 in a trade from Sacramento, is averaging less than 1 point per game. He has played in only six of Philadelphia's 23 games this season.
