21-time North West 200 victor Alastair Seeley will race for the EHA Racing Yamaha squad.

The British Supersport squad return to the North West for the first time since 2016 and are delighted to have secured the services of the event’s most successful rider.

Seeley has won ten victories in the Supersport class, and will be hoping to add to that tally on EHA’s YZF-R6.

“I’m extra motivated for next year, very determined and focused to show there is a reason I’m the record holder at the North West,” said Seeley.

“Racing against the EHA team in the British Supersport Championship this year, I saw how fast their bikes were and how professional the team is. Supersport is the class I’ve enjoyed the most wins in at the North West and the bikes suit my style and stature. I’ll be back in the British Supersport Championship next season too so I should be dialled in on the 600 coming into Portrush.”

Team owner, former North West 200 racer Edward Allingham, added: “We have wanted to bring the team home to Northern Ireland and we got the opportunity to put Alastair on the bike. It’s really exciting to shake hands on the deal and it would be good to show people what we can do. With a rider like Alastair on our bike we have to aim to win and although we’re a young team, just in racing four years, we have the resources and experience to handle any pressure. We had eight podiums in the British championship this season and Alastair’s crew chief will be former North West 200 winner Ian Newton.”

It’s not yet known who Seeley will race for in the 1000cc classes at next year’s North West, although smart money would be on him remaining with the Tyco BMW team for the event.
