Steve Spurrier reportedly has revealed his Heisman Trophy vote.
In speaking to USA Today’s Dan Wolken on Tuesday, the former Florida coach revealed that he voted for Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield to receive the coveted award. Like Spurrier, many pundits consider Mayfield to be a favorite to win the award, even with controversy as part of the player’s resume. The Sooners quarterback has led his team to a 12-1 record this season. That run includes a Big 12 title and a berth in the Rose Bowl against Georgia on Jan. 1.
Mayfield has thrown for 4,340 yards this year with 41 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
