TULSA, Oklahoma -

Opening statements began Tuesday in the murder trial against a former University of Tulsa football player.

Tavarreon Dickerson looked emotional in court as he listened to the 911 call his wife made on the morning their 6-week-old daughter died.

Jenna Dickerson also teared up on the stand as she listened to the call where she told dispatchers her daughter wasn't breathing at all.

Jenna testified she fed their daughter, Raylie, for the last time around 3:00 a.m. She said they had a hard time getting her back to sleep, so Tavarreon took Raylie into the living room.

Jenna said the next thing she remembers is Tavarreon waking her up, saying they needed to get to a hospital.

Tavarreon is charged with child abuse murder.

His wife said to this day she does not feel like their children are unsafe around him.
