Something's wrong with Kim Kardashian's Snapchats, and nobody will tell us why

Snapchat's confusing—just ask the producers of E!'s Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Or, uh, us.

So, okay—we've got a Snapchat mystery on our hands. Or a conspiracy theory. Or just...a very strange occurrence. Whatever this is, if you've got any ideas about what the hell is up with Kim K's Snapchat, please, for the love of god, get at us. We're already in too deep.

Background: Last night's episode of KUWTK took us through what happened when Kim K was robbed in Paris. The episode included three clips from the star's personal Snapchat account. And typically, "KUWTK" episodes are highly-produced affairs, clearly shot and edited by professional film crews—but this entry was, shall we say, of the cinéma vérité tradition, with a variety of handheld shots that seemed unconstrained by scripts. People don't care who wrote a news story, but they do care who shared it on Facebook

People never remember, or care, who wrote a news story they read. But they really care who shared it on Facebook.  Americans will trust that the story they read isn't fake news if it's shared by someone they trust, according to a new report from the Media Insight Project.  "People who see an article from a trusted sharer, but one written by an unknown media source, have much more trust in the information than people who see the same article that appears to come from a reputable media source shared by a person they do not trust," the report said.  SEE ALSO: Supreme Court weighs a constitutional right to social media access Read more...More about News, Fake News, Media, and Business

Cracker Barrel got trolled hard by Facebook users seeking justice for a woman's firing

It's not all chicken n' dumplins for Cracker Barrel these days. The southern country-themed restaurant is getting hilariously and mercilessly trolled after an employee of 11 years was fired by the company for an unknown reason - on her husband's birthday no less! SEE ALSO: 'Sesame Street' has brilliantly trolled Donald Trump for decades The woman's husband, Brad, valiantly asked on the restaurant's Facebook page for a reason why his wife was let go, but to no avail. Comedian Amiri King then brought the issue to the public's attention and posted this screenshot of Brad's comment: Now, thousands of comfort food vigilantes are making it their mission to seek justice for Brad's wife and are truly taking advantage of every opportunity to do so. And we mean every opportunity. Read more...More about Food, Woman, Fired, Trolling, and Restaurant

Merriam-Webster's Twitter just threw so much shade, you won't ever need sunscreen again

Merriam-Webster's Twitter account is the hero we all need during this trying time in our country. The dictionary's official account has pulled no punches in roasting the Trump administration on various occasions. It clapped back at Kellyanne Conway after she uttered the infamous phrase "alternative facts." It's called Trump out for the language he uses many a time. And now, on the day when the House is voting on whether to replace Obamacare with the American Health Care Act, which the Congressional Budget Office claims will leave 24 million Americans without health care, Merriam-Webster has made the perfect choice for the word of the day. University immortalizes nice cloud dog with equally nice 10-foot statue

Earlier this month, the University of East Anglia's student union wanted to motivate students to vote in the school's annual elections. So they tapped into humankind's greatest motivator: good and nice dogs. Last October, the campus was devastated when Cloud Dog, a beloved pup often taken for walks around the grounds, passed away from arthritis complications.  Students quickly became eager to honor the dog, who had brought a particular kind of fluffy joy to stressed-out academics. SEE ALSO: Meet the dog who's basically a saint So the student union proposed a deal: if 2,000 people voted in the elections, a 10-foot statue of Cloud Dog would be erected on campus. 'The Handmaid's Tale' trailer is getting a lot of people talking about Donald Trump

Many supporters of the Trump administration commented on the trailer, calling the show "anti-Trump" and "leftist propaganda."  In response, a lot of folks were quick to point out that the original novel was published about 30 years ago, let alone picked up by Hulu before Trump even became the Republican Party nominee.  Read more...More about Donald Trump, Hulu, The Handmaid S Tale, Watercooler, and Conversations
