Skrillex tweeted a video of himself getting handcuffed to Elon Musk. Cool!

Credit: mashable.com

Sometimes, it's best just to lay down the facts.

Skrillex was pulled over by police outside a Pinkberry in Hollywood on Thursday for blasting his own demos too loud in his Tesla and was handcuffed for driving without identification. A fan (who may or may not have been enjoying frozen yogurt) identified him as Sonny Moore to the officer and caught the whole thing on Snapchat, adding a soundtrack of Skillex's collaboration with A$AP Rocky, "Wild for the Night." She then tweeted a video of the whole saga.

Skrillex retweeted the Criterion-collection worthy collection of Snapchats and mentioned Elon Musk in the conversation to compliment Tesla speakers.  Read more...

Bollywood's take on Shakespeare is still one of the best adaptations out there

Dear filmmakers: If you're going to remake an old story, you better damn well do it right. That isn't a targeted statement so much as a PSA (though it stings freshly of ABC's abominable Dirty Dancing), and a direct product of the fact that I was spoiled in 2006 by Omkara, an Indian film version of Othello. Omkara was the second Shakespearian endeavor from director Vishal Bhardwaj, who released Maqbool in 2003, based on Macbeth. Both films — and 2014's Haider, based on Hamlet — transpose the Bard's classics to regional India, and Omkara remains a stunning retelling of a world-renown story that is anything but old. 'The Spider-Man: Homecoming' poster was very bad, but consider the other options

The other day, we finally got our first look at the new Spider-Man: Homecoming movie poster. And it was pretty bad. I was worried that the new Spider-Man wouldn't feature any people, so this poster is very reassuringpic.twitter.com/BUR77wU3vG — Edwin Davies (@EdwinJDavies) May 24, 2017 Nothing really makes sense here. The colors are all over the place and Iron Man is on there twice. All the trailers have been electric, and all the previous posters have looked really good, so what happened on this one? That's right, budget issues. They blew their entire budget on the first few posters and had little to nothing left to spend on this poster. They commissioned six very inexpensive, novice graphic designers and the one they went with was the best one by a mile.  Read more...More about Watercooler, Marvel, Spider Man, Marvel Entertainment, and Marvel Studios

'Pirates of the Caribbean' box office is a series-low in the U.S.

The declining popularity around Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean movies continues — in the U.S., at least — with the release of Dead Men Tell No Tales. The fifth entry in the series is looking at an opening weekend domestic estimate of $62.2 million at the box office. It's good enough for a first-place finish, but it isn't the runaway success Disney was likely hoping for. SEE ALSO: 'Pirates of the Caribbean' swims in circles with 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' Dead Men is pacing toward the series' second-lowest opening in the U.S., after the 2003 originalThe Curse of the Black Pearl opened with $46.6 million domestically, but back then it was also an unproven blockbuster based — seemingly impossibly, at the time — on a theme park ride. 8th graders refuse to take a photo with Paul Ryan because they don't "want to be associated with him"

Speaker Ryan is one of the most unpopular politicians in the country — and he's polling particularly poorly among one 8th grade class. Eighth grade students from South Orange Middle School in South Orange, New Jersey were on a school trip to Wasshington D.C. on Friday when they were given a very special opportunity: a photo-op with Speaker Paul Ryan. Under normal circumstances, many students would leap for the chance to take a photo with the third most powerful politician in the country. Not these kids. SEE ALSO: Give Trumpcare a break: Here are all the pre-existing conditions it will cover Close to 100 8th graders refused to take a photo with the Speaker and instead sat in a parking lot across the street. Speaker Ryan then took a photo with the remaining class and posted it to his Instagram. Read more...More about Watercooler, Paul Ryan, Watercooler, and Politics

'Overwatch' Reddit just found the most magically dumb minigame

Sometimes, the best gaming moments happen because players do things the developers never intended. In this case, I'm pretty sure Blizzard never intended for Roadhog to be a volleyball. A new post from the Overwatch subreddit, aptly titled "hog ball," depicts a glorious twisting of one hero's unique ability to "boop" other heroes with a concussive blast. Take a bow, Lúcio. SEE ALSO: Adorable dad reenacts 'Overwatch' emotes Lúcio's Soundwave — or "boop cannon," as we should all call it — is normally used to push away attacking players, preferably over the ledge of a deadly drop. In Hog Ball, however, the boop cannon has a much simpler purpose: keep the ball in the air. Read more...More about Entertainment, Gaming, Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment, and Entertainment

On the anniversary of Harambe's death, the internet grieves with memes

It's been a year since Harambe was killed, but the internet will never forget. Last year at this time, a curious toddler wandered into the gorilla's cage at the Cincinnati Zoo, leading zoo officials to then shoot Harambe out of fear of what he might do.  Bored people on the internet — remember, this is the pre-Trump era, when people used to be bored — then took up the gorilla's cause. No one, it should be noted, wanted them to. SEE ALSO: Please don't name April the giraffe's baby Harambe Harambe memes flooded the internet, some of them targeting the Cincinnati Zoo. Things reached such an emotional pitch that the Cincinnati Zoo Director, Thane Maynard, had to come out to say that he was "not amused" by all the Harambe memes. These 'Game of Thrones' battle scenes could offer a huge clue about Season 7

War is coming to Westeros in Game of Thrones Season 7 in a way we've never seen before. The new trailer and preview photos give us a hint of the damage that Daenerys' dragons could do in open combat against the Lannisters, and now that our Khaleesi is in the thick of the action, the producers promise, "there’s a pace and urgency that’s very palpable. This is the end game." But the Lannisters aren't the only ones causing trouble in Season 7 — as the trailer teases, there's also Euron Greyjoy's armada, which could prove pivotal in the war to come, for one big reason...  We're gonna need a bigger— no, wait, this one seems fine.Image: hbo Read more...More about Hbo, Game Of Thrones, Spoilers, Game Of Thrones Season 7, and Entertainment

Queen Elizabeth II reportedly a big fan of her life story in 'The Crown'

Netflix charts the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II in its biopic series The Crown... and the IRL queen is apparently a fan. Now, this might simply be wishful thinking brought to life by a welcome rumor. But we'll take it, with an appropriately portioned helping of salt grains, of course.  SEE ALSO: 'The Crown' could well cure your 'Downton Abbey' nostalgia A "senior royal source" told the U.K. tabloid Sunday Express that Her Majesty has seen all 10 episodes of the Netflix series. H. Moser & Cie. Showcases $27,000 USD Smartwatch Look-Alike

Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. has announced the release of the Swiss Alp Watch Zzzz. Upon first glance, the watch looks like a traditional smartwatch, with a rectangular face with no numbers or logos on it. Despite it looking like a smartwatch, the watch is 100 percent mechanical, something the brand says it did intentionally. "Looking like a smartwatch which is powered off or on standby, the Swiss Alp Watch Zzzz from H. Moser & Cie. cultivates this ambiguity in irreverent fashion. Behind its contemporary design lies a 100% mechanical watch," the brand said in a written statement. "The black dial — stripped not just of any signature, but also of its indices — is strictly minimalist... The Swiss Alp Watch Zzzz is designed to display the time, something it does beautifully. " The watch possesses a 38.2mm x 44mm face and a black leather strap. The body houses a rechargeable power reserve that can last for four days and can be charged by hand. With only 20 of the Swiss Alp Watch Zzzz planned for production, H. Moser & Cie have not provided when and where the watch will be available. Visit H.
