FinanceFeeds - Financial pyramids continue to be a problem in Russia, with the latest example coming from Chuvashia, a federal subject of the Russian Federation, where a typical hyip scheme defrauded investors of more than RUB 159 million ($2.81 million). During 2014 and 2015, an investment firm named “Udobno Dengi” promised hefty returns to those who invest their money in the project. As a typical scam, the entity initially paid some returns to investors before eventually halting payments a...

At the time of writing this article, the popular Crypto Currency BitCoin had just reached the price of around $2700 USD per coin. Much like many other people, the rocket like trajectory in its value had piqued my interest in finding out more about it. When performing a cursory look at the charts to try and grasp some form of analysis on price direction, I could not help think about whether this was...

Consequently, the ASX is likely to march to the beat of its own drum on Tuesday. While it is a busy week in terms of economic data, most of this is to be released between Wednesday and Fr...

Moody’s Investors Service last week cut its sovereign ratings on China by a notch, putting them on par with those of Fitch Ratings. That put S&P one step above the two agencies, holding an AA- rating with a negative outlook that it has maintained sinc...

The little things creep up on you.Photo: Gabe Rodriguez/FlickrI’m a Gen X parent whose 5-year-old son joined the ranks of thousands of American kids this spring to take part in his very first year of organized baseball. And while he can’t yet catch anything in his glove, my kindergartner has already compelled us to rack up costs that, at the very least, have made a good dent in our budget for the rest of the summer. The final price tag for his first year of Little League hardly makes up a s...
My grandmother enmeshed her own descendants in her frugality.Photo credit: Clem Onojeghuo | UnsplashThanks to the New York City Sanitation Department, my kitchen ghosts have finally backed off. Their tutting grew fainter when organic waste was declared recyclable, and the only sound I heard when the new receptacle arrived was the thunk of a wizened carrot hitting the bottom, along with my last pang of guilt about discarding food. The loudest tuts had come from my maternal grandmother, Charlotte,...
